IBAN fiat account provision enables EU crypto businesses on their mission to move seamlessly between fiat and crypto with full compliance.
Today, Januar is announcing it has selected Chainalysis, the blockchain data platform, as their technology provider to support their commitment to best practices in crypto-compliance and anti-money laundering. Januar, the financial infrastructure provider for crypto businesses, provides IBAN fiat accounts to crypto businesses and enables them to conduct payments and operational transactions through a specialised and reliable fiat partner. In April, Januar received its European Payment Institution license from the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (DFSA).
Januar’s commitment to servicing crypto businesses brings additional regulatory scrutiny, and Januar, which is regulated by the DFSA, has integrated Chainalysis’ compliance software in support of comprehensive risk management and due diligence practices.
“Our mission at Januar is to enable and legitimise European crypto businesses by providing them with fiat payment rails. Teaming up with Chainalysis reinforces our commitment to working with the best compliance partners in the industry as we prepare for the enforcement of MiCA (Markets in Crypto Assets), which is currently scheduled for January 2025. As a Chainalysis alumni myself it’s a pleasure to see Januar enter into this important collaboration with the organisation and their solution whose early journey I was a part of back since 2016,” said Simon Ousager co-CEO and founder of Januar.
“Chainalysis was founded on the belief that in order for cryptocurrency to succeed, it must be integrated into traditional financial infrastructure. Access to reliable fiat account and payment rails remains to this day a large challenge for many crypto businesses, and we are excited to work with Januar as they bring on and off-ramping solutions to the soon-to-be MiCA regulated crypto businesses across the European Union”, said Alex Cable, Area VP Western EMEA, Chainalysis.
